After relocating to Los Angeles, Auerbach assumed leadership of the television department, overseeing shows like "The Patty Duke Show", "That Girl," "The Mod Squad" and "Chico and the Man".

In 1992, Auerbach joined the USC School of Cinematic Arts as the Executive Director and Associate Dean of Student Industry Relations. He dedicated the next 25 years to connecting students with professionals in the film and television industries.
