AceShowbiz - On Friday, November 22, Disney released a lyric video for "Can I Get a Chee Hoo?". Performed by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, 52, who reprises his role as the beloved demigod Maui in "Moana 2", the song features encouraging lyrics that celebrate inner strength and determination.
"You've got greatness inside, and you just gotta believe/ You think you don't have the tricks, but they're right up your sleeve," emphasizes the catchy tune. "These waters are threatening, but you bring the reckoning / So drop all the fear and questioning/ I need a, can I get a CHEE HOO?!"
The track follows the immense success of Johnson's "You're Welcome" from the original "Moana" film, which became a fan favorite. "Can I Get a Chee Hoo?" captures the essence of Maui's playful and adventurous spirit.
"Chee hoo" is a quintessential expression used by Maui in the film to convey pure joy and excitement. The newly released "Moana 2" soundtrack also includes other songs written by Barlow & Bear, such as "We're Back", "Beyond", "Finding the Way" and "Get Lost", featuring the vocals of Auli'i Cravalho, who returns to voice the titular princess.
Cravalho describes the film as showcasing "a new part of my voice" and her character's journey through moments of indecision and self-discovery. "There's a lot of deeper layers to these songs," she says.
"Moana 2" hits theaters just in time for Thanksgiving, November 27.
