AceShowbiz - In a recent interview, Dame Dash revealed that Drake had expressed interest in acquiring his stake in Roc-A-Fella Records, which includes rights to Jay-Z's iconic album, "Reasonable Doubt." Dash stated that Drake put in a bid for $6 million, but subsequently vanished, leaving the deal incomplete.
Dash expressed his surprise at the lack of interest in his stake, considering the historical significance of Roc-A-Fella and its connection to Jay-Z. He had hoped that someone would value the art and legacy associated with the company.
Despite Drake's initial offer, the auction for Dash's stake ultimately failed to attract significant bidders. The New York state government eventually purchased the one-third stake for $1 million, a far cry from the millions Dash had anticipated.
Dash's attorney, Natraj Bhushan, had predicted that the auction would draw interest from prominent figures in the sports and entertainment industries, as well as those seeking a stake in a historically significant company. However, the only serious bid came from Drake, who later withdrew his offer.
The failure of the auction has left Dash questioning the extent of Jay-Z's influence and legacy. He suggested that if people truly valued Jay-Z as much as they claimed, they would have been more willing to invest in something connected to him.
As Dash continues to deal with the sale of his Roc-A-Fella stake, he has expressed a willingness to sweeten the deal for potential buyers. He has offered to include a Roc-A-Fella grill and an original Roc-A-Fella chain for offers exceeding $10 million.
