AceShowbiz - Recently, Dr. Phil addressed a rally at Madison Square Garden in support of Donald Trump. However, a week later, he has clarified that his appearance was not an endorsement for Trump.
In an interview with Piers Morgan, Dr. Phil stated that his attendance at the rally was an "act of rebellion" after Kamala Harris' campaign allegedly ignored his interview requests. He claimed to have offered to deliver the same speech at a Harris rally, replacing Trump's name with hers.
"I offered to give the identical speech at a Harris rally," McGraw said. "I would have crossed out Trump's name, written in Harris' name."
The day after his speech at Trump's rally, Dr. Phil claimed that a Harris campaign staffer contacted him about a speaking opportunity at a rally in Washington, D.C. He responded positively but later heard nothing further when they realized he was serious.
Dr. Phil emphasized that he does not endorse celebrity endorsements. "I don't back off of what I said [at Trump's rally] one iota, not one word," he said, adding that he would still attend a Harris rally and deliver the same speech.
When asked who he would vote for, Dr. Phil declined to reveal his choice. He emphasized the need to respect the office of the president and support the elected candidate.
In his speech at Trump's rally, Dr. Phil had defended Trump, saying, "He's tough as an old army boot." However, he also acknowledged that he did not agree with everything Trump said or did.
