Drake and Chris Brown are facing a lawsuit for allegedly stealing the melody and structure of Tykeiya Dore's song "I Got It" for their 2019 hit single 'No Guidance'.

AceShowbiz - In a lawsuit filed in New Jersey, Tykeiya Dore alleges that Drake and Chris Brown's "No Guidance" infringes on the copyright of her 2016 song. Dore claims that the defendants used the same "chord progressions, tempo, pitch, key, melody, harmony, rhythm, structure, phrasing, and lyrics" as her track.

Dore also points to Drake collaborator Anderson Hernandez, known professionally as Vinylz, as a possible link between the two songs. She alleges that Vinylz had access to her song through the YouTube channel of video director Benji Filmz.

In 2019, after "No Guidance" was released, Dore's uncle reportedly confronted songwriter Nija Charles, who co-wrote the hit single, about the similarities. Charles allegedly blocked him on social media, leaving him feeling embarrassed and humiliated.

The lawsuit also targets YouTube and Google for allegedly taking down a copyright comparison video uploaded by Dore's lawyer, Marc Stephens. Stephens claims that the takedown was wrongful and caused Dore emotional distress. Dore is seeking $5 million in damages.

Drake and Chris Brown have faced similar accusations in the past. In 2021, Braindon Cooper and producer Timothy Valentine alleged that "No Guidance" stole elements from their 2016 song "I Love Your Dress." Drake and Brown dismissed the claims, stating that it was impossible for them to scan millions of songs to commit such a theft.

This new lawsuit adds to the ongoing legal battles involving Drake and Chris Brown. They have yet to respond to these latest accusations.
