Known for his portrayal of Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor has shared his experiences auditioning for other iconic roles.

AceShowbiz - Sebastian Stan, who has gained critical acclaim for his portrayal of Donald Trump in "The Apprentice", has revealed his near-misses with some of Hollywood's most sought-after roles. In an interview on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, Stan disclosed that he was in contention for Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" reboot (2009) and Hal Jordan in "Green Lantern" (2011).

For the role of Captain Kirk, Stan underwent a screen test with Abrams and even commissioned a separate photoshoot to replicate William Shatner's portrayal. However, the part ultimately went to Chris Pine. Similarly, for "Green Lantern", Stan competed alongside a star-studded cast that included Justin Timberlake, Jared Leto and Ryan Reynolds, who ultimately secured the lead role.

Despite these disappointments, Stan expressed gratitude that he did not land the roles. He stated, "Looking back, I'm almost glad it didn't happen. I don't know if I could have handled that level of attention like some of those guys."

Stan's rise to fame came after appearances in "Gossip Girl" and "Once Upon a Time". He earned recognition with roles in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" (2014), "I, Tonya" (2017) and "Pam & Tommy" (2022), which garnered him both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

While Stan's journey to stardom may have taken a different path, his current status as a key player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe serves as a testament to his determination and talent.
