AceShowbiz - Team USA rugby sevens star Ilona Maher proudly refers to her Olympic bronze medal as "rose gold." In a recent interview, she reflected on the special significance of their historic achievement.

Maher, 28, along with her teammates, cheekily rebranded their bronze medals as "rose gold" due to the exceptional and transformative nature of their victory in Paris. "We truly changed the game and did something so monumental," she says.

Despite not earning the gold, Maher feels an overwhelming sense of accomplishment, often having to correct people who mistakenly call her a gold medalist. "It's just a bronze, but it felt like a gold," she adds.

Maher's bronze marked the first-ever Olympic medal for Team USA in rugby sevens, a hard-fought victory against Australia. Since Paris, she has been busy competing on "Dancing with the Stars", with only one week off after the Olympics.

Reflecting on the post-Olympic experience, Maher notes that the comedown may be more difficult for some of her teammates who did not win a medal. However, she emphasizes the importance of savoring the moment and creating something meaningful from the experience.

For Maher, travel provides a respite, particularly the access to lounges like the Delta One Lounge at LAX, where she can have some time to herself. "I try to sleep as much as I can on planes," she says.

The Delta One Lounge offers amenities such as a made-to-order sushi bar, nap pods, massage chairs, and partnerships with local businesses. The airline is also an official partner of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and Team USA.
