AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus may reconnect with Liam Hemsworth amid her legal problem. It has been reported that the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker "wants to speak" with her former husband amid a lawsuit involving her hit "Flowers".
On Friday, October 4, a source revealed that the lawsuit has caused trouble in paradise between the 31-year-old singer and her boyfriend Maxx Morando. Speaking to In Touch, the source spilled, "Miley - for the most - has put Liam behind her, but this business with the lawsuit has really set her off again and got her very anxious and freaked out because it's all coming out that she wrote this song about him."
The source went on to say, "She was still very angry and hurt when she wrote that song." Noting that Miley "didn't exactly try to hide" the fact that Liam is the inspiration behind the song, the source stated that it's "really not something she wanted to be forced to talk about."
The insider explained, "It's looking like she may have to go on record in court and explain her motivations behind the song, which is just very, very painful. It's reopened old wounds that she thought were healed, but the level of emotion this has triggered has really made it clear she's got more healing work to do."
The insider also claimed that Miley, who ended her marriage to Liam in 2020 allegedly due to his infidelity, has left her friends worried with the possibility of her reconnecting with Liam. The insider shared, "She's now saying she wants to speak with Liam to give him a heads up and get some closure on the whole painful chapter, which isn't going over well with Maxx."
In September, Miley was slapped with a lawsuit by Tempo Music Investments over copyright infringement. The company accused the Grammy winner of "intentionally copying" Bruno Mars' song "When I Was Your Man", claiming that "it owns a share of the copyright for [the] Bruno's song."
Tempo Music alleged that "there are so many musical similarities between Miley's 'Flowers' and Bruno's 'When I Was Your Man' that it's obviously the result of Miley 'intentionally copying' Bruno." It further stressed, "The melody, harmony and chorus [on] 'Flowers' are substantially similar to the verse [on] 'When I Was Your Man'."
