After leaving ABC News due to their high-profile romance scandal in 2022, the news anchors left a void at the network as it faces a shortage of rising stars.

AceShowbiz - Since their high-profile romance scandal in 2022, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have parted ways with ABC and embarked on new ventures. In late 2023, they launched their own podcast, "Amy & T.J.", and now they've expanded their partnership with iHeartMedia to host "Morning Run", a daily morning show.
While Robach and Holmes have moved on, ABC News reportedly faces a talent crisis. Sources allege that the network lacks successors for its veteran anchors, including Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan.
According to insiders, Robach and Holmes were considered potential successors before their exit. "Losing them at 'GMA 3' wasn't the point," said one source. "They were the primary replacements for 'Good Morning America!' "
ABC is also reportedly lacking a rising star to take over David Muir's seat on "ABC World News". Insiders believe that Linsey Davis, who anchors the Sunday edition of "World News Tonight," is a potential replacement for Muir, but not for "Good Morning America".
The network's recent decision to appoint Almin Karamehmedovic, Muir's executive producer, as president of the news division has raised concerns among some. Sources question his ability to balance multiple anchors and handle talent issues, particularly at shows like "The View".
Amid these challenges, ABC has yet to appoint a "No. 1 and a No. 2" in the talent department, leaving a void in cultivating current and emerging stars. The network has declined to comment on the allegations.
Meanwhile, Robach and Holmes continue to progress in their careers. Their morning show, "Morning Run", covers news, entertainment, and lifestyle topics, with Robach describing it as keeping listeners "informed and entertained every day of the workweek." The couple's podcast, "Amy & T.J.," will continue to run alongside their new show.
