AceShowbiz - Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd has unveiled the lead single and music video from his forthcoming album, "Hurry Up Tomorrow". Titled "Dancing In the Flames", the track marks a departure from the artist's recent releases, embracing an 80s synth-pop revival sound.
The Weeknd released the single alongside a visually stunning music video, shot entirely on the iPhone 16 Pro by director Anton Tammi and director of photography Erik Henriksson. The video features the singer driving a convertible in a snowstorm before crashing, symbolizing the theme of the song which explores the connection between love and pain.
In the lyrics, The Weeknd sings, "My love's beyond the pain/But if I miss the brake, we're dancin' in the flames." The chorus further emphasizes the juxtaposition of love and danger, with the line, "I can't wait to see your face crash when we're switchin' lanes."
"Dancing In the Flames" was produced by Max Martin and Oscar Holter, the duo behind many of The Weeknd's previous hits, including "Blinding Lights" and "Take My Breath".
The release of the single comes after The Weeknd announced the title and cover art for "Hurry Up Tomorrow". The album is set to conclude the trilogy that began with "After Hours" and continued with "Dawn FM". The artist has yet to announce an official release date for the album.
