AceShowbiz - McG, known for his work on "Way of the Warrior Kid" and original "Charlie's Angels" movies, is in final negotiations to direct KISS biopic, "Shout It Out Loud." The film will be produced by STX Entertainment and is expected to feature the band's decades-long musical journey.
The project was previously set up at Netflix but is now moving to STX, with Lionsgate reportedly in talks to co-finance and distribute worldwide. The most recent screenplay draft is written by Darren Lemke ("Shazam!").
McG will produce alongside Mary Viola through their Wonderland banner. The film's producers and executive producers include Mark Canton, Leigh Ann Burton, Doc McGhee, UMG's Jody Gerson and David Blackman, David Hopwood, Courtney Solomon, Dorothy Canton, Simmons, and Stanley. Christa Campbell and Annie Herndon will oversee the project for STX.
Casting is currently underway, with production aiming to start in the second quarter of 2025.
KISS, formed in 1973, has released numerous successful albums, including "Destroyer," "Love Gun," and "Dynasty." The band is known for their signature face paint and pyrotechnic-filled live performances. Despite retiring from live performances in 2014, KISS will continue to appear through digital avatars introduced at their final concert at Madison Square Garden.
In addition to "Shout It Out Loud," McG recently helmed "Uglies" for Netflix and is currently working on "Way of the Warrior Kid" for Apple and Skydance.
