George Clooney, reflects on his almost 30-year friendship with fellow Hollywood icon and longtime friend, forged in the aftermath of Princess Diana's death.

AceShowbiz - George Clooney and Brad Pitt have revealed that their enduring friendship began with Princess Diana's tragic death in 1997. Pitt, 60, recalled how Clooney, 63, caught his attention when he criticized the paparazzi's role in Diana's passing. "That's when I saw: this guy's got something that the rest of us don't," Pitt said.

Beyond their initial connection, Clooney and Pitt have supported each other through life's ups and downs. "We check in on each other every once in a while, which is an important part of this," Clooney said. "Things get complicated in life and you always have to make sure everybody's okay." Pitt added that Clooney is "probably the best at understanding, seeing the chessboard and the potential moves."

Their friendship has only strengthened over the years. They starred together in films like the "Ocean's" trilogy, "Burn After Reading" and "Wolfs", which recently premiered at the Venice Film Festival. At the premiere, Clooney addressed rumors about their salaries for "Wolfs", saying the reports were "millions and millions and millions of dollars less than what was reported."

Their friendship has also faced scrutiny from the media. Both actors have experienced intense paparazzi attention, which they liken to being hunted like animals. "It's a really invasive to know people are out there and they're hiding in the bushes," Pitt said.
