AceShowbiz - Stephen Nederoscik, the Olympic pommel horse champion, has become a social media sensation thanks to his striking resemblance to DC's Clark Kent. Like Superman, Nederoscik removes his eyeglasses before his performance, leading to the inevitable comparisons.
In a recent episode of "Gold Meets Golden", "Superman" actor David Corenswet congratulated Nederoscik on his Olympic success. He jokingly remarked that they were both fighting for "truth, justice," and more.
Corenswet will make his onscreen debut as the Man of Steel in James Gunn's upcoming Superman movie, scheduled for release in July 2025. In the video message to Nederoscik, Corenswet says, "Thanks for continuing to fight for truth, justice, and the core strength of fifty normal men. Thanks for being exceptional, man. Well done."
DC Studios' Superman movie revolves around Superman's journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. The film also stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and a star-studded cast.
The upcoming DC Universe slate includes Superman, "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow", "The Brave and the Bold", "Swamp Thing" and "The Authority". On the television side, the universe will expand with animated and live-action series such as "Creature Commandos", "Peacemaker", "Booster Gold" and "Teen Titans".
DC Studios president James Gunn emphasizes that their approach differs from Marvel's. He explains, "We are telling a big, huge, central story... But we're also creating a universe that is like 'Star Wars' or 'Game of Thrones', with different times, places, and morally complex characters."
"Superman" will hit theaters exclusively on July 11, 2025.
