AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift recently faced a significant threat during her Eras tour. While preparing for three shows in Vienna, Austria, authorities uncovered a terror plot aimed at causing maximum harm outside the concert venue. According to the Associated Press, the arrested suspects had admitted to planning an attack to "kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue."
Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, the Directorate of State Security and Intelligence chief, reported that the main suspect intended to use knives and explosive devices to carry out the attack near the stadium. Consequently, the scheduled three shows at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium were canceled to ensure "everyone's safety."
Barracuda Music assured fans they would receive refunds for the canceled events.
The news of this thwarted attack undoubtedly caused distress to many, including Taylor Swift's boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce. An insider revealed to Page Six that "very concerned" Travis contacted Taylor "immediately" upon hearing the news.
He has been a supportive presence throughout her tour, even taking to the stage as a surprise background dancer at one point. However, with the NFL season approaching, Travis had to return to football training.
Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident for the "Lover" singer. She recently endured a series of troubling events, including a stalker being detained in Germany and a tragic attack at a Swift-themed dance and yoga event resulting in the death of three young girls. This spate of violence has undoubtedly exacerbated her concerns.
Taylor Swift has been open about her fear of violence in the past. During a 2019 interview with Elle, she revealed, "My fear of violence has continued into my personal lifeā¦ I carry QuikClot army-grade bandage dressing, which is for gunshot or stab wounds. Websites and tabloids have taken it upon themselves to post every home address I've ever had online. You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things."
As the threats surrounding Taylor Swift and her tour persist, the pop star's safety remains a paramount concern for her loved ones and fans alike. With heightened security measures and vigilance, the hope is that Taylor and her fans can enjoy her concerts without further incidents.
