Man Charged with Voyeurism at Taylor Swift's Edinburgh Concert

Scotland Police arrested the 64-year-old concert-goer during one of the Grammy-winning pop star's three sold-out shows at Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday, June 8.

AceShowbiz - A 64-year-old man has been charged with voyeurism at the Grammy-winning pop star's sold-out Eras Tour show in Edinburgh, Scotland. Scotland Police arrested the concert-goer during one of Taylor Swift's three sold-out shows at Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday, June 8.

Superintendent David Happs stated, "A 64-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a voyeurism offense committed within Murrayfield during the event on Saturday June 8." The man was later released on an undertaking to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

In the U.K., voyeurism is an illegal offense that involves gaining sexual gratification by watching or recording someone engaged in a private act. This was the only arrest made during Swift's Edinburgh shows, which attracted a total crowd of 220,000 over three nights.

The "Fortnight" hitmaker kicked off the U.K. leg of her "Eras Tour" with her performance in Edinburgh, where each night she performed to a 73,000-strong crowd. The shows broke the all-time attendance record for a stadium concert in Scotland's history.

Swift expressed her gratitude to her Edinburgh audience on social media, saying, "Edinburgh!!! You truly blew me away this weekend. Thank you for breaking the all-time attendance record for a stadium show in Scotland 3 times in a row and for all the ways you made us feel right at home."

Swift's performances in Edinburgh also included a special moment when the singer witnessed a couple getting engaged during her combined "Folklore" and "Evermore" set. She enthusiastically screamed, "Yes!" and congratulated the couple, adding, "I just saw that whole thing. Man, that's amazing … Thanks for doing that at my concert; that's a big moment!"

Swift's Edinburgh shows were the first of 15 dates on her UK tour. She will continue to perform in Liverpool, Cardiff, and London before heading to Ireland.
