The former 'Double Dare' host defends himself after refusing to take part in the docu-series about the abuse happening on set of the Nickelodeon television shows.

AceShowbiz - Marc Summers, the former host of Nickelodeon's "Double Dare," has spoken out about his experience filming the Investigation Discovery docuseries "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV."

Summers claims he was blindsided by producers, who he alleges misled him about the purpose of the documentary. "They did a bait and switch on me," he said in an interview on "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show."

According to Variety, Summers was shown a video of accusations made against producer Dan Schneider and former Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck's alleged sexual assault of Drake Bell. Upon seeing the footage, Summers abruptly left the interview.

"They never told me what this documentary was really about," Summers expressed. "They lied to me about what they were going to use."

The outlet reports that Summers was unaware that a clip of him reacting to the video would be included in the docuseries. "They ambushed me," he said. "Now we get into a whole situation about who's unethical."

Summers emphasized that he never met Schneider, as "Double Dare" ended its run before Schneider joined Nickelodeon. "I never met the man, I have no idea about any of those things," he said. "But it made it seem like I knew those people."

A fifth episode of "Quiet on Set" is set to premiere on Investigation Discovery on April 7. The episode, titled "Breaking the Silence," will feature former Nickelodeon child stars from the early 2000s, including Drake Bell.

Summers' full interview is scheduled to air on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show's YouTube channel on April 5 at 8:45 A.M. ET.
