AceShowbiz - Law enforcement in Dallas, Texas, are actively searching for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice, 23, in connection with a major multi-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday, March 30 evening in northeast Dallas.
According to The Dallas Morning News, a vehicle believed to be registered or leased to Rice was involved in the crash around 6:20 P.M. on Saturday. The Dallas Police Department's Kristin Lowman told The Dallas Morning News that initial investigations indicate that both a Chevrolet Corvette and a Lamborghini were speeding in the far left lane when they lost control.
Two drivers received on-the-scene treatment for minor injuries, while two others were transported to a nearby hospital for similar concerns.
Witness accounts and video footage obtained by The Dallas Morning News suggest that the occupants of both the Lamborghini and the Corvette fled the scene on foot without rendering assistance or providing their information. A police call sheet obtained by the paper lists Rice as the suspected driver of the Corvette.
Marc Lenahan, an attorney representing one of the victims, expressed concern about the prevalence of reckless driving in the area where the crash occurred. He is gathering information about the incident and seeking confirmation regarding the rental status of the Lamborghini.
Rice, a North Richland Hills, Texas, native and Southern Methodist University alumnus, had a significant impact on the Chiefs as a rookie in 2023. He emerged as Patrick Mahomes' primary target after Travis Kelce, accumulating 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. He also set an NFL rookie record with 26 postseason receptions, playing a crucial role in the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory.
The investigation and identification of the suspects in the multi-vehicle accident are ongoing. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
