AceShowbiz - Jussie Smollett's exit from "Empire" was one of the biggest TV scandals that led to an actor getting fired from a show. The actor playing Jamal Lyon on the popular show was let go after he was accused of staging a hate crime attack to boost his salary on the FOX series.
"While these allegations are very disturbing, we are placing our trust in the legal system as the process plays out. We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have decided to remove the role of Jamal from the final two episodes of the season," 20th Century Fox Television said in a statement. In December 2021, a jury found Smollett guilty of five out of six felony counts of disorderly conduct of making a false report to police.
