The 20-year-old Grammy-winning singer treats fans to the music video of her new song 'Vampire' which serves as the first single off her sophomore album 'Guts'.

AceShowbiz - Olivia Rodrigo returns with new music. On Friday, June 30, the Grammy winner treated fans to the music video of her new song "Vampire" which serves as the first single off her sophomore album "Guts".

The visuals kicks off with Olivia serenading about a toxic relationship at night time on a bed of grass. She clutches a mic and wears a beautiful white mini dress as she sings, "The way you sold me for parts/ As you sunk your teeth into me/ Blood sucker, famef**ker/ bleeding me dry like a goddamn vampire," to an emotional piano ballad.

Right after the chorus, it's actually revealed that she's on a stage that eventually bursts into flames. The song, meanwhile, takes a swift turn as it progresses to a more up-beat direction.

While the audience looks horrified, the 20-year-old star continues her performance despite her bloodied appearance. As she tries to run from stage crews and security, she ascends to a bridge where she croons, "I've made some real big mistakes/ But you make the worst one look fine/ I should've known it was strange/ You only come out at night."

Of the new single, Olivia explained that the song is about a toxic relationship that can drain energy from the rest of your life. "I was upset about a certain situation and went to the studio alone and sat down at the grand piano, and the chords and melody and lyrics just poured out of me - almost like an out-of-body experience," she elaborated.

She continued, "It's a song about feeling confused and hurt, and at first I thought it was meant to be a piano ballad. But when [Daniel Nigro] and I started working on it, we juxtaposed the lyrics with these big drums and crazy tempo changes. So now it's like a heartbreak song you can dance to."

"Guts" follows Olivia's commercially successful, award-winning debut album "Sour" that went 4x platinum in the U.S. The album, which features hits such as "Drivers License" and "Deja Vu", also earned the singer three Grammys in 2022, including Best New Artist.
