The Egyptian-American broadcaster, who also co-hosts 'Today with Hoda and Jenna', has sparked concerns among fans because she has been absent from live airways since February 17.

AceShowbiz - Hoda Kotb's absence from "Today" and "Today with Hoda and Jenna" has been explained. The Egyptian-American broadcaster's colleague Craig Melvin revealed on Wednesday, March 1 that she has been absent because she's dealing with "a family health issue."

"As for Hoda, we know some of you are wondering how she's doing," Craig divulged. "We can tell you, Hoda's OK. She's got a family health matter she's been dealing with."

Hoda has been absent from live airways since February 17. While she didn't offer more details about her leave, the journalist took to her Instagram account to share a picture with "Choose Hope" written on it. Alongside the February 27 post, she simply left two red heart emojis.

Fans have since flooded the comments section with questions. "Today show just isn't the same without you! I hope you're OK," one fan said. Meanwhile, another replied, "But boy if they are letting you go … people are going to drop like flys [sic] watching Today. We Love Hoda!"

Someone added, "Hope everything is OK Hoda. You are missed." One other, meanwhile, assumed that she was expanding her family after adopting daughters Haley Joy (6) and Hope (3) in February 2017 and April 2019, respectively. "Did you get another baby, Hoda? This is usually what happens when you go missing for 2 wks," the fan wrote. "Sure hope, it's something good."
