The former Miami Heat player is facing a misdemeanor battery charge after he allegedly hit one of his teenage daughters in the face during an argument at his Miami home.

AceShowbiz - Amar'e Stoudemire has finally broke his silence. The former 15-year NBA veteran has vehemently denied the allegation that he assaulted one of his teenage daughters during an argument at his Miami home.

On Sunday, December 18, the 40-year-old former basketballer turned to his official Instagram page to address the matter. "Over the last 24 hours, an incident at my family home led to my [sic] being charged with assaulting my daughter," he began.

Amar'e further described that the allegation was "based on a report that does not square with the facts." He added, "I am of the Jewish faith, today Jewish people all over the world celebrate Hanukkah and hear the story of how we fought wickedness. I believe that 'whatever is hateful to you, do not do others.' "

"As the investigation unfolds, the facts will show the allegations to be groundless as my daughter's medical condition is not the result of being assaulted by a father who is nearly 7 feet tall and weighs 250 pounds," Amar'e continued.

Amar'e later insisted that he "could never see myself assaulting any person, especially my children." He stressed that he always respects, protects and loves his family, particularly his children. He concluded the message by asking for privacy, "As a father, I ask for your grace as we secure our space and privacy."

Amar'e was arrested early Sunday and later released on a $1,500 bond with a no-contact order issued. The former Miami Heat player is facing a misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly hitting one of his teenage daughters in the face.

According to a copy of the police report obtained by The Miami Herald, Amar'e allegedly struck his daughter during an argument at his Miami home on Saturday night, December 17. The report did not identify which of his two daughters, ages 17 and 14, was hit.

Amar'e allegedly confronted the girl and accused her of being disrespectful to his mother during a phone call, according to the police report. When she denied it, he told her, "You're talking back again," and punched her in the jaw, leaving her bleeding.

The girl contacted her mother, Amar'e's ex-wife, who came to the home, picked up the two girls and their two brothers and contacted the police. The report stated that when officers went to his home, he told them the teenage girl "was sad because she received a whooping from him for being disrespectful and a liar." He then invoked his right to remain silent.
