AceShowbiz - Sarah Jessica Parker is mourning the death of her stepfather. Just one day after her family announced Paul Giffin Forste's passing, the Carrie Bradshaw of "Sex and the City" took to social media to post a sweet tribute to him.

On Friday, September 30, the 57-year-old shared on Instagram a throwback photo of her late stepdad. She began her caption, "Paul Giffin Forste. 1946-2022. Godspeed. RIP. Strong like a bull. Til the end."

"At home and among all those who loved you dearly, you will be missed always," the Emmy Awards winner added. "We will take good care of Mommy, who you worshipped for 54 years. X, SJ."

Sarah's family confirmed on Thursday that Paul passed away at the age of 76 following "an unexpected and rapid illness." They said in a statement, "In his last moments he was surrounded with the love and gratitude of his adored wife Barbara [Forste] of 54 years and children, including Sarah Jessica Parker."

"Paul will be remembered with the spirit of loving kindness which was his faith, his special delight in his 13 grandchildren, and his sustained belief in making the world a more charitable, tolerant, and beautiful place for all," the message further read.

Paul and Sarah's mother Barbara tied the knot in 1968. According to the New York Times, the pair were the ones who drove the actress and her older brother, Timothy Britten Parker, to one of their first Broadway auditions in New York when she was just 11 years old.

"Although I did not do every show, I made my Broadway debut with her," Timothy told Playbill in 1996. "Our stepfather Paul also worked with us, both as the assistant stage manager and an understudy in the play. They really got a package deal with us."
