The 'Donda' artist has sent a letter to the company to terminate the Yeezy Gap apparel line deal, which was announced in 2020 and was supposed to last 10 years.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West has ended his partnership with Gap. According to a new report, the "Famous" rapper sent a letter to the company on Thursday, September 15 to terminate the Yeezy Gap apparel line deal, which was announced in 2020 and was supposed to last 10 years.

The Wall Street Journal stated that Ye informed the company of his plans to sever their relationship amid his public complaints regarding the arrangement. According to his attorney Nicholas Gravante Jr., Gap breached the partnership agreement by failing to release apparel and opening promised retail stores.

Gap was required to sell 40 percent of the Yeezy Gap line in brick-and-mortar stores during the second half of 2021. Additionally, the company is required to open five retail stores dedicated to the Yeezy Gap line by July 31, 2023.

Despite the termination, Gap will be permitted to sell existing Yeezy Gap products before retiring the brand name. It was also said that any merch made with Ye and Balenciaga sold at Gap will remain unimpacted.

The "Donda" artist confirmed the report by posting a screenshot of the letter on his Instagram Story. The letter read, "It is apparent from your Response that Gap has abandoned its contractual obligations under the Strategic Agreement dated June 25, 2020 (as amended, the 'Agreement') and disclaimed any intention to attempt to cure the material breaches identified in the Notice-which, in any event, are incurable. Notably, Gap doesn't not dispute that it has failed for over two years to sell a single Product in a single Gap store, including any of its 500+ stores in North America. Nor does Gap dispute that it has failed for over two years to open a single dedicated store anywhere in the world."

Through the letter, Kanye also accused Gap of attempting to "avoid its clear contractual obligations through a tortured reading of the Agreement that would render Gap's contractual obligations illusory and would completely negate the detailed scheduled agreed upon by the parties in the fully executed April 2021 Project Plan (the 'Project Plan')- which, per the Agreement, constitutes an integral and enforceable part of the parties' bargain. Yeezy rejects Gap's position categorically and will take all necessary action to enforce its rights."

It remains to be seen if the ex-husband of Kim Kardashian will take the same action against Adidas.
