AceShowbiz - John Michael Montgomery has shared updates on his condition after being involved in a "serious accident" on Friday, September 9. The "I Swear" singer took to his Facebook account to address the accident, noting that everyone who had been on board was recovering from their injuries.
"Yesterday we had a serious accident on the way to a concert in North Carolina. Everyone that was on the bus is recovering from their injuries," the country crooner wrote. "Despite some cuts and broken ribs, I am doing well."
The 57-year-old musician went on to say, "I will take some time over the next couple of weeks to heal and be back on the road soon. I am grateful to the medics and highway patrol for their quick response to this difficult situation. Thanks to everyone for their concerns."
According to Entertainment Tonight, John and other bus passengers were traveling south in Tennessee near Kentucky state line when the vehicle veered off the interstate. It later struck an embankment and overturned. Suffering injuries along with Montgomery were William Salyer of Staffordsville, KY, and Marc Wood of Frankfort, KY. William was the only passenger not wearing a seatbelt.
The "I Can Love You Like That" singer, who is the brother of Montgomery Gentry's Eddie Montgomery, is currently on tour. He is joined on his tour by his son, Walker Montgomery. His next schedule is a show in Shipshewana, Indiana on September 24 as a September 17 appearance in New Braunfels, Texas has been removed from the schedule.
Recently, John performed 15-song set at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds' Texas Roadhouse Concert Stage. "Thank you Kentucky State Fair for a great night. Nothing better than being home and sharing the stage with [my son]," said John, who was also joined by "American Idol" season 20 winner Noah Thompson.
