During an appearance on 'The Breakfast Club', the Grammy Award-winning raptress opens up about wanting no rules in a relationship and having no expectations when it comes to loving someone else.

AceShowbiz - It's safe to assume that Lizzo and her boyfriend are in an open relationship. The rapper, who made red carpet debut with her beau Myke Wright back in June, has admitted that she doesn't believe in a traditional relationship a.k.a. monogamy.

The three-time Grammy Award-winning artist stopped by "The Breakfast Club" on Friday, July 15 during which she spilled the beans on what's been going on in her life. When talking about relationship, she revealed, "I haven't even been with nobody for 10 years. I can't imagine being with somebody for 10 years, that's a long time yo."

"I think a traditional relationship scares me for 10 years, but love is forever. I can love somebody forever," she added. When asked by Charlamagne Tha God what a non-traditional relationship looks like to her, she responded, "Monogamy, I think, to me, is a little claustrophobic. I think because [of the] rules. I think a love relationship that's not monogamous has no rules."

"I think people who do poly and all that stuff, there's still rules. ... I don't want any rules," the 34-year-old further elaborated. "But that doesn't mean I'm out here f**king and s**king and ducking, it doesn't mean he is either. It just means that like, there are no expectations, and that way, the love gets to just be the main event."

While Lizzo's view on relationship is not something everybody can accept, her boyfriend Myke clearly understands her. "Even the man I'm with, he knew me before all of this too. We were friends," she said of the stand-up comedian/actor. "It hit different when they knew you before 2019."

Discussing how love saved her life, the "Truth Hurts" hitmaker shared, "I think 'saving your life' doesn't always me you was about to die and somebody saved you. Saving your life can also mean, your life was headed in one direction and now it's going in this direction which is a much better healthier, safer, happier place because of love." She added, "I think I was going towards a really lonely, anxious place in my life, especially after becoming a celebrity."
