The 'Peaches' hitmaker's cousin was driving with their grandmother Kathy in the passenger seat of her vintage red Mustang when the explosive crash happened in Stratford.

AceShowbiz - Justin Bieber's grandmother Kathy Bieber was involved in a near-fatal car accident with his cousin Brandan Steven. Luckily, the "Peaches" hitmaker's step-grandma and the 17-year-old survived the fiery crash.
On Saturday, July 2, Kathy and Brandan were involved in the horror accident in Stratford, Ontario. The 73-year-old was in the passenger seat of her vintage red Mustang as her grandson Brandan drove the car.
Photos of firefighters spraying the smoking car emerged via the community Facebook group Stratford Cruises on the same day. Making use of social media, Brandan detailed the accident and revealed he had to "pull his grandmother" out of the car and it could "have been very bad" had he not acted quickly.
The initial message from a user read, "This is devastating news and happened in Stratford! I sincerely hope there was no foul play involved…Can someone identify the owner, is he/she in our group?" Brandan, who lives in Mitchell, which is about 25 minutes from Justin's hometown of Stratford, responded within the hour, "I was the one driving when this happened, my grandmother Kathy Bieber was the owner of it [sic] in passenger."
Brandan later explained what happened exactly when the crash occurred. "We were at a dead stop as a car was turning left a couple cars in front of us," the high school student wrote via Facebook comments. "Then a distracted driver rear ended us they say she had to be doing 70. Wasn't good had to pull my grandmother out of car…could have been very bad if we were in there for even another 5 seconds as the doors were binded shut," he added.
The scary incident came just weeks after Justin revealed he has been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. The diagnosis caused him to suffer facial paralysis. In a recent health update, he confirmed to fans that he's been doing significantly better day by day.
"Each day has gotten better and through all of the discomfort I have found comfort in the one who designed me and knows me," he shared on social media. "I'm reminded he knows all of me. He know the darkest parts of me that I want no one to know about and he constantly welcomes me into his loving arms. This perspective has give me peace during this horrific storm that I'm facing."
