The 'American Idol' alum performs a rendition of the 2008 hit for Kellyoke on her talk show as an apparent tribute to Britney although the latter recently called Kelly out.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson has nothing but love for Britney Spears despite the latter's recent allegation that Kelly had dissed her in the past. In a Wednesday, June 15 episode of her talk show, the "American Idol" alum covered Britney's hit "Womanizer".
Joined by her band, "The Kelly Clarkson Show" host showcased her powerhouse vocals as she belted out the 2008 song that encourages ladies everywhere to put a stop to the players in their lives. Sharing a full video of the performance, the show's official Twitter account gave a shout-out to Britney as writing, "Celebrating Queen Britney."
Interestingly, Kelly performed "Womanizer" on her show just a week after Britney called her out after her old comments in a 2007 interview resurfaced. At the time, the "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer was going through the biggest public breakdown in her career as she navigated a divorce from Kevin Federline and released her critically acclaimed album "Blackout" while the former "The Voice" coach was promoting her studio album "My December".
During a promo of her album on station Q100, Kelly shared her opinions about Britney. "Man, but wouldn't it be funny if she's just totally screwing with everyone?" she said. The male host, who wasn't so sure, replied, "I think some celebrities are smart enough, that are capable of doing that." As he was seemingly about to claim he didn't think Britney was "smart enough" to do that, Kelly responded, "Cause it'd be real funny if she were like, 'Just kidding!' "
Explaining her stance further, Kelly went on saying, "I mean, think about it. She's done no press for her album, which I love by the way." The "Because of You" hitmaker added, "She's done no press, just gets so much press off all this other stuff."
Fast forward to earlier this month, Britney posted on her Instagram page along with a clip of her wearing a green corset dress, " 'I don't forget' … don't you just wish she would say she's kidding ??? Clarkson … in a world where bullying has been heartbreaking, I've had my share." She added, "Can we get an AWW ??? Psss … I'm not kidding … play on friends, play on !!!"
Kelly has never directly responded to Britney's claims.
