AceShowbiz - "The Sopranos" alum Bruce MacVittie has sadly passed away. The actor, who played Danny Scalercio on the hit crime drama television series, died at the age of 65 on May 7.

Confirming Bruce's death was his wife, Carol Ochs. In a statement to the New York Times, she divulged that her husband died in a hospital in Manhattan. However, the cause of death has yet to be revealed.

Bruce starred in more than 75 TV and film projects during his career. His TV credits also included "Sex and the City", "Homicide" as well as "Law & Order" franchises. He was also a familiar face in Off Broadway theater after making his debut in David Mamet's "American Buffalo" opposite Al Pacino in 1983.

Many have since offered their tributes to the late star in the wake of his passing. One in particular was Al Pacino, who told the outlet, "I loved Bruce MacVittie... His performances were always glistening and crackling; a heart and a joy to watch. He was the embodiment of the struggling actor in New York City, and he made it work. We will miss him."

"Sex and the City" and "And Just Like That..." star Evan Handler, who stars as Harry Goldenblatt on the hit HBO shows, penned on Twitter, "I met Bruce MacVittie more than forty years ago." He added, "We worked and played together repeatedly, as actors, and as friends, throughout the ensuing decades."

In another tweet, Evan remembered how Bruce was by his side during his "life-threatening illness" in the '80s. "The unflinching presence he granted anyone in need, no matter how dire or terrifying their circumstances," he shared. "Please let your friends know you love them, and let them know you're as available as Bruce always was."

"Law & Order" franchise producer Warren Leight, meanwhile, tweeted, "We've worked together often. He was a beautiful, honest actor and man. The real deal." He further noted, "Sending love to his friends and family."
