AceShowbiz - Shaun King's daughter is on the mend. 19-year-old Kendi started daily therapy as she's moved out of ICU after she was rushed to hospital with brain injury. The girl was left with serious injuries after she was hit by a car while walking in Manhattan.
King thanked his online followers for their love and support, "I wanted to take some time out this morning to thank you all for praying for our daughter and sending our family encouragement this week. It's meant the world."
He updated on his daughter's condition, "She was moved out of the surgical ICU and has gotten better and better daily as she started physical and cognitive therapy."
The activist went on to thank the hospital workers for caring for Kendi, "Doctors and nurses and staff have been great." He's looking forward to bringing the girl home, "If she meets all of her goals, which we think she will, we will be able to bring her home soon."
He added that he and his wife were "mainly exhausted," as he explained, "This year has been brutal and has tested our resolve in ways you just can't prepare for."
Despite the struggles, the family maintained positive outlook, "But we're still here. Still love each other. And right now that's enough."
His wife Rai also offered an update on her own Instagram. "After 3 days, Kendi was transferred out of the surgery intensive care unit last night. She has physical and cognitive therapy every day and will continue to once released," so she informed her followers.
She asked them to continue praying for her daughter to "complete brain healing," have "no seizures," and keep her "full memory functioning," before concluding, "Thank you all for your prayers. It truly changes things."
Kendi's accident came only a few days after Shaun King had a neck surgery.
