AceShowbiz - Trey Songz's new chapter is off to a rough start. Having just turned 37 years old a few days ago, the Los Angeles-based singer/actor is reportedly currently under investigation for alleged sexual assault in Las Vegas.
Per TMZ report, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is currently looking into claims of a sexual assault incident at The Cosmopolitan involving the "Can't Help but Wait" hitmaker. Law enforcement sources tell the site that the R&B star is cooperating with police.
"Neverson is cooperating with the investigation," LVMPD confirmed, according to KTNV. Police said the incident happened at a hotel in the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. Details of the alleged incident are not immediately available, but the report was made to the police on Sunday, November 28. No arrests have been made as of now.
Trey Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson, was in the Sin City over the weekend to celebrate his 37th birthday. He reportedly threw a bash at Drai's Nightclub on Saturday night, one day prior to his actual birthday.
A source at the Cosmo says the Grammy Award-nominated artist and his entourage brought a group of females back to the hotel from the club, and that's where things allegedly took a turn.
A rep for Trey has not commented on the report of the sexual assault investigation.
This isn't Trey's first brush with the law this year. Back in January, he was arrested in Kansas City, Missouri while attending the conference championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. At the time, the was heckled by fans and he asked them to "chill out."
An officer came over and an altercation ensued. He was arrested and charged for trespassing, resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, and for assaulting a police officer, a low-grade felony. Security video showed Trey throwing the first punch at the police officer when he was escorted out of the seating area.
