AceShowbiz - Ashanti's sister Kenashia "Shia" Douglas gave more insight into her abusive relationship in a new interview. Speaking with Angie Martinez on "The Angie Martinez Show" alongside her singer sister on November 16, Shia detailed the domestic abuse by her famous ex-fiance.

"I have a past experience with domestic abuse," Shia told Angie. "I hadn't spoken about it. I hadn't communicated or even ever spoken to anyone outside of my family about what happened... It showed a lot of the real things that took place at that time. I had my teeth broken. I was engaged."

Shia claimed that the abuse didn't happen throughout the relationship, adding that the violence only bagan the last two or three years of their relationship. When Martinez asked if it was someone who people knew and Ashanti quickly said, "You know him!"

Following the interview, Ashanti took to her Instagram account to send love for her sister. "I love you more than you'll ever understand. I'm so proud of you, your strength, your courage, your drive, your passion & your growth," so the "Rain on Me" singer said. "I will forever support you and stand behind you, as you continue to raise awareness and consciousness, healing and discovering self… transmuting darkness into light as you share your story!!!! @wifeofcreation @liltuneshi."

While Shia didn't disclose the identity of her abuser, many believed that it was rapper Slowbucks. Shia first got candid about the abuse in 2020 as she shared pictures of the injuries she had suffered from due to the domestic abuse.

The picture featured her battered face and her teeth being knocked out. Additionally, there was blood coming from her nose as she had a black eye. Shia also included video clips of her reconstruction surgery on her mouth and jaw.

Among those who reacted her post was 50 Cent, who was beefing with Slowbucks. Reposting the video, the "In Da Club" rapper accused Slowbucks of the abuse and slammed him in the caption, "what's wrong with you boy, hitting that girl like that."
