Tributes and condolences pour in online for the Admiral Al Calavicci depicter as the actor passed away peacefully at the age of 85 at his home over the weekend.

AceShowbiz - "Quantum Leap" star Dean Stockwell has died at the age of 85.

The screen star, most famous for playing Admiral Al Calavicci on the sci-fi TV show opposite Scott Bakula, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning (07Nov21), a representative told TMZ.

He's survived by his wife Joy Stockwell and their two children, Austin and Sophie.

In addition to starring in all 97 episodes of "Quantum Leap" - a role that earned him multiple Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe award for Best Supporting Actor in 1990 - Stockwell appeared in films such as "Married to the Mob", "Dune", "Blue Velvet, and "Paris, Texas".

He also earned himself even more fans when he joined the cast of "Battlestar Galactica" in 2006, playing John Cavil in the show until 2009.

In the wake of his passing, "Quantum Leap" and "Battlestar Galactica" stars were quick to send tributes and condolences.

"Quantum Leap" actress Deborah M. Pratt remembered the late actor as "an amazing talent, and a kind, generous, funny, clever man."

"He was a good father and husband. I lost a beautiful friend. My heart hurts today and will for a long time. There is an old Egyptian saying, that you die twice in this world. Once when you leave and once when people stop saying your name. Say his name."

Lydia Cornell who appeared on the very first episode of "Quantum Leap" tweeted, "Rest in Peace Dean Stockwell. Sparkling heart What an amazing actor. He always had a mischevious glint of humor in his eyes. I was honored to work with him in the pilot for "Quantum Leap" at @NBCUniversal along with Scott Bakula. #deanstockwell."

"Battlestar Galactica" actor Edward James Olmos penned, "A true giant of a human being has passed. I was so fortunate to have worked with him on Miami Vice and Battlestar. I will cherish the years we spent together He was a gift to all who truly knew him. #RIP #SoSayWeAll."
