AceShowbiz - The first look pictures from Showtime's "The First Lady" have found their way out online. Through some pictures, obtained by Entertainment Weekly, fans are treated to the first look at Viola Davis as former First Lady Michelle Obama.

In one of the pictures, Viola can be seen donning a green top and black pants. She is joined Lexi Underwood, who plays Malia Obama, Regina Taylor, who plays Marian Robinson, as well as Saniyya Sidney as Sasha Obama. In another picture, Viola's Michelle is seen with O-T Fagbenle, who portrays Barack Obama.

"I feel very protective of Michelle," Viola, who also studied the first lady's 2020 Netflix doc for her role, reveals. "It's our job as actors not to judge whoever we are portraying, but I ended up thinking she's just dope."

Additionally, the news outlet shares pictures Michelle Pfeiffer and Gillian Anderson as real-life Washington, D.C. icons Betty Ford and Eleanor Roosevelt respectively. Dakota Fanning, who plays Susan Ford, is seen holding hands with her mom as they and Aaron Eckhart's Jerry Ford are heading to their car.

Showrunner Cathy Schulman says, "Michelle had a very overwhelming part to play -- because there were so many times Betty's life was out of control because of her dependency. Michelle is beautiful and brittle and vulnerable and strong, all at the same time. That's what we needed because that's what Betty was."

As for Gillian's Eleanor Roosevelt, her tense expression indicates that she may be having a serious talk. "There is a kind of poetic quality to Gillian," Sussane Bier notes. "Wanting to have a version of life while still being someone's wife and managing to have a huge impact? I fell in love with all three of them."

"The First Lady" is set to premiere on Showtime in 2022.
