Sam Ingham is reportedly upset with Britney after the 'I'm a Slave 4 U' hitmaker gave an explosive testimony about the alleged abuse committed by her handlers.

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears' longtime conservatorship lawyer is seeking to be released as her court-appointed representative.

Sam Ingham was assigned to the case back in 2008 when the legal restrictions on her personal and professional life were first put in place following the singer's infamous breakdown but, following her explosive court testimony on 23 June (21), he has decided it's time to step down.

According to TMZ, Ingham is upset with his client for insisting she had no idea she could request to end the conservatorship, which she claimed had left her traumatised and depressed, because her statement to Judge Brenda Penny suggests he failed in his legal obligation to inform the singer of her options.

Instead, sources close to the lawyer allege he and Britney had discussed having her father, Jamie Spears, removed as co-conservator, but the "Toxic" hitmaker never expressed a desire to formally ditch the conservatorship even though she was regularly updated about her rights.

However, attorney/client privilege will prevent Ingham from detailing his decision to quit in his court filing, which is expected to be filed as early as Tuesday (06Jul21).

If his motion is approved, he will be the latest person on Britney's team to resign, following the departure of her longtime manager, Larry Rudolph.

He announced he will no longer be working with the pop superstar late on Monday, citing her "intention to officially retire" from music as the reason for his exit.

Meanwhile, Bessemer Trust finance bosses recently confirmed reports they no longer want to be part of Britney's conservatorship nightmare, after they were brought onboard in November (20) to share business responsibilities with her dad, Jamie, who is now the sole conservator of her professional life.
