AceShowbiz - Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine abruptly bailed on a planned weekend concert in Texas after becoming embroiled in a contract dispute over his pay.
Fans were left disappointed on Sunday, June 27 after the "Fefe" star appeared to be a no-show at the Humble Civic Center, where Tekashi was billed to perform a concert for attendees of all ages.
However, seven hours after doors opened, security guards and local police officials reportedly began ushering people out of the venue, without any word about the whereabouts of Tekashi.
Now the rapper tells TMZ he was briefly backstage, but left after promoters failed to hand over the balance of his $250,000 (£180,000) payment prior to taking the stage, as per the terms of his contract.
Instead, he was only given an advance of $70,000 (£50,400), which he promptly returned after realizing the deal would not be honored, and then left.
Representatives for the concert promoters and venue have yet to respond to the allegations.
The Texas concert cancellation came just days after his homeless father, Daniel Hernandez, claimed the "GOOBA" spitter did not offer to help him financially. "You think he'd come hook me up with something," he told Page Six. "He's been giving money to other people. … He gives money to everybody. 'Here, here, here.' "
Asked if 6ix9ine was aware about his living arrangement, Daniel Sr. stated, "Because I don't have an apartment, he doesn't know that I'm in the shelter." He added, "Now he's going to know I've been here for, what, two years already?"
