Discussing his 2020 Netflix special in which he tore into the conservative political commentator, the comedian points to an unwritten rule of comedy that 'you shouldn't apologize for jokes.'

AceShowbiz - Dave Chappelle has no regret for calling Candace Owens an "articulate idiot" and other names. In the latest episode of his podcast "The Midnight Miracle", the stand-up comedian talked about his 2020 Netflix special "8:46" in which he tore into the Republican pundit and discussed with his co-hosts about whether he owed her an apology for it.

"There is no possible way that I owe Candace Owens an apology, is there?" Dave raised the question at the top of the episode. His question was met with immediate answer from his co-hosts Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey, who shouted, "F**k that!"

The three then continued digging further into Candace's role as a "mascot for colonial interests in America today." Dave once again asked for an agreement, "So the verdict is no apology, right?" before he pointed to an "often spoken but unwritten rule" of comedy that "you shouldn't apologize for jokes," because it's a "very bad precedent to set."

"It's like Rachel Maddow crying on the news," he drew a comparison to defend his case. "If you cry about one story, you're going to have to cry about all these s**ts."

Dissecting his jokes about Candace, the 47-year-old said, "I did say that but I also conceded that I don't know if her p***y stinks or not, but that I was guessing that it probably does stink." He went on claiming that Candace is "cruel and dangerous and completely the opposite of any black woman I've ever met in my life."

Dave, who was taking issue with Candace's comments about George Floyd's in the special, then doubled down on his remarks. He stressed that while "it's not illegal to be an a**hole," he found her comments about George "particularly cruel."

In the end of the episode, Dave did apologize to Candace, but not for the obviously offensive remarks. "By the way, Candace Owens, I'm sorry I called you 'articulate,' " he quipped.

In the said special, Dave ripped into Candace as he said on stage in front of a socially distanced crowd, "That rotten b***h, she's the worst. I can't think of a worse way to make money. She's the most articulate idiot I've ever seen in my f**king life."

"I don't care if he personally kicked Candace Owens in her stinky p***y," he continued. "I don't know if it stinks, but I imagine it does. If I ever find out, I'll let you know, for sure. I'll tell like Azealia Banks. I'll tell."
