AceShowbiz - Steven Spielberg has paid tribute to Oscar-nominated cinematographer Allen Daviau, following his coronavirus-related death.
Daviau, who worked with Spielberg on "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial", "Empire of the Sun" and "The Color Purple", among many other films, passed away on Wednesday (April 15) at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, California, becoming the fourth resident at the facility to die of COVID-19.
Spielberg paid tribute to his late collaborator, releasing a statement on Thursday, which reads, "In 1968, Allen and I started our careers side by side with the short film 'Amblin'. Allen was a wonderful artist but his warmth and humanity were as powerful as his lens. He was a singular talent and a beautiful human being."
