When announcing his engagement to longtime girlfriend Katie, the 'Dance with Ya' crooner reveals he has to book last minute vacation to Aruba after travel bans ruined his Paris arrangement.

AceShowbiz - Country singer Drew Baldridge is engaged to wed his longtime girlfriend.
The "Dance with Ya" star proposed to Katie on a secluded beach in Aruba on 16 March, but he reveals the vacation was booked at the last minute after his plans to get down on bended knee in Paris, France were ruined by travel bans brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
"It's been a crazy couple of weeks," Baldridge tells Taste of Country. "To pick the worst week in American worldwide history of travel to try to propose to your girlfriend? That's me. That's the story of my life."
The musician had been preparing for the romantic moment for months and had even written a secret love song, called "Before You", with LoCash members Preston Brust and Chris Lucas, as a gift for his future fiancee.
"The song describes who I was before her," the groom-to-be shares.
"Before her, I was a little lost. I was a little crazy. I didn't know who I was. She just makes me a better person. If I could have anyone for the rest of my life, it would be her. I want her to make me better every day, and that's what she does."
Baldridge got the chance to play the tune for Katie shortly after they became engaged, but he admits the whole night was a bit of a blur because they were both so emotional.
"I got down on one knee and I don't even remember if I asked her to marry me, I just saw her crying and shaking her head yes," he says.
"The crazy part is that there was this older couple underneath this tree on the beach watching me propose, and they told us that 20 years ago, they got married right underneath that tree and had watched us get engaged on their anniversary. And once they told us that, I just started crying."
