Upon learning news of Rieflin's passing, King Crimson founder Robert Fripp pays tribute to his former bandmate by writing on social media, 'My life is immeasurably richer for knowing you.'

AceShowbiz - Former R.E.M. and King Crimson drummer Bill Rieflin has died at the age of 59.
The musician, who replaced Bill Berry in R.E.M., reportedly lost his battle with cancer.
Rieflin joined Michael Stipe, Peter Buck and Mike Mills as a touring member of R.E.M. in 2003 and performed on the band's final three albums.
He joined King Crimson in 2013 and left the group last year (19) after announcing plans to take a break from music.
Paying tribute to his late bandmate, King Crimson founder Robert Fripp writes, "Fly well, Brother Bill! My life is immeasurably richer for knowing you."
Rieflin also played on Ministry's 1988 album "The Land of Rape and Honey". His credits include a stint with Nine Inch Nails.
