AceShowbiz - Steve Lacy was under fire over his reply to a fan's comment on his Instagram account. Many voiced their disappointment in the Grammy-winning singer as they seemed to think that the remarks were "xenophobic."

This started after a fan asked Steve for a tour in Asia, writing in a comment section, "bro we need asia tour." Steve could have replied nicely to the innocent comment, but singer/songwriter opted to respond in sarcasm.

"yall need a coronavirus vaccine that's what y'all need," so Steve wrote back to the fan, referring to the deadly virus outbreak which reportedly began in late 2019 in the Chinese city of Wuhan, in several countries in Asia including China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and more. The reply unsurprisingly didn't sit well with many people.

"Steve Lacy a xenophobic, abuser defending piece of s**t man this is disappointing," one said on Twitter. "steve lacy we were all rooting for you," one other added with someone else writing, "steve lacy,,,, there really isn’t a single man we can trust out there."

"Not Steve Lacy being racist to Asians about the virus," one person tweeted in disbelief.

However, not all thought that Steve's comment was offensive. "LOOK... Yall are NOT going to attack Steve Lacy for saying 'Yall need a Coronavirus Vaccine.' LMFAO yall just ready to cry over anything," someone defended the singer. "y'all being way too soft over steve lacy's comment," one user chimed in.

The fan who asked Steve also showed that she didn't took offense of Steve's reply to her. "y'all chill out," so the fan wrote. Echoing the sentiment, another fan added, "it was obviously a joke I'm happy your not sensitive like these people."

Steve took to Instagram Stories to share a screenshot of those comments. Captioning the pic, he wrote, "@yol.and literally."
