Rick Dunsford, who won a storage unit auction done by the band's former AnR manager, is facing a legal trouble from Universal Music Group for allegedly uploading the unreleased materials.

AceShowbiz - Axl Rose and Slash have broken their silence about an online music leak by a fan who won a storage unit auction.

Guns N' Roses' former A&R manager, Tom Zutaut, sold the unit containing countless unreleased songs recorded from 2000 to 2001 to superfan Rick Dunsford, who is now in legal trouble for allegedly uploading 97 of the tracks.

"It is tremendously disappointing, sad, and unfortunate that a record executive involved with the band in their early years found it appropriate to auction off the unreleased materials owned by his former employer," a statement to TMZ from Guns N' Roses reads.

Bosses at Universal Music Group, who own the copyright for the leaked songs, have threatened legal action against Dunsford with a cease and desist letter, insisting he violated a $15,000 (£11,000) agreement he made with the company to return the songs and take them offline.

However, Dunsford insists somebody else uploaded the songs online.

He has been banned from all future Guns N' Roses concerts.
