Lawyers for the disgraced producer filed a motion to change his trial venue from the Big Apple to Long Island or Albany back in August due to fears he would not get a fair trial.

AceShowbiz - Harvey Weinstein has lost his bid to move his sexual assault trial out of New York City.

Lawmakers at the Supreme Court's Appellate Division rejected the disgraced producer's fears he would not get a fair trial in the Big Apple after reviewing documents from his lawyers, who suggested the trial should be moved to Long Island or Albany.

The 67-year-old's rape and sex assault trial is scheduled to begin in Manhattan in January (2020). He has been accused of raping a woman in a hotel room and performing a forcible sex act on a different woman.

Weinstein has pleaded not guilty and maintains any sexual activity was consensual.

Insisting the trial should be moved, his lawyers wrote: "It is safe to say that New York City is the least likely place on Earth where Mr. Weinstein could receive a fair trial, where jurors could hear evidence, deliberate and render a verdict in an atmosphere free of intimidation from pressure to deliver a result that the politicians, the activists, the celebrities and the media demand."

Weinstein's lawyers filed the change of venue motion in August.
