AceShowbiz - It looks like Kendall Jenner and Ben Simmons' romance is not completely over yet. Rumors of the couple breaking up have recently been swirling on the Internet, but it appears that the model and the basketball player are just hitting the pause button on their relationship, according to a source.

"They're on a break. The relationship ran its course," so the source said to PEOPLE. "She's spending time with her friends and back to being in fun mode."

This arrives after Page Six reported that Kendall and Ben had split. According to the publication, the Philadelphia 76ers star was spotted celebrating a friend's birthday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino before going to Scores, where there was allegedly buzz among his friends that he and the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star broke up last week.

The site also suggested that he and his friends were together with a "tall, super sexy brunette," but he refused girls who were coming for him. "Ben was at a center booth by the stage, but when the topless girls came to the booth, he had security send them away," a source said of the Australian hunk.

Kendall and Ben sparked dating rumors last year, though she only confirmed it during an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show". When asked by host Ellen DeGeneres whether she was indeed dating the athlete, Kendall simply answered, "For a bit now."

The Victoria's Secret model has also recently opened up about her romance in an interview with Vogue, explaining whether or not the two have plans to tie the knot. "Maybe. Definitely not now, but maybe one day," Kendall said. "I got a glimpse of my sisters dealt with [the attention] and it's cool to learn from that."

Disclosing why she chose to keep her romance private, Kendall continued, "For me, a lot of things are very special and very sacred, like my friends and relationships, and I personally think that bringing things into the public makes everything so much messier. I'm very young and right now I feel like relationship aren't always super-certain and I don't want to bring too much attention to something if you don't really know long term."

"A relationship is only meant to be between two people, and the second you make it the world's business is when it starts messing with the two people mentally," she added. "Like once everyone is let in, you're letting all these opinions into your relationship, and I don't think that's fair."
