Kensington Palace confirms the Duchess of Sussex's participation at the event hosted by Kings College London that will see female thought-leaders and activists discussing issues affecting women today.

AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, is set to take part in a panel discussion as part of International Women's Day, following claims that she plans to raise her baby as gender fluid.

Kensington Palace announced the 37-year-old royal will speak at the event hosted by Kings College London in a Twitter post on Friday, March 01.

Meghan is set to appear alongside a number famous women at the event, including Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox and model Adwoa Aboah.

The palace posted further details on the duchess' involvement in the event, which takes place on 8 March.

"The event will bring together a special panel of female thought-leaders and activists to discuss a range of issues affecting women today," they tweeted.

The panel will discuss the importance of International Women's Day and the spotlight it can bring to obstacles which still impact female empowerment across the world, including access to education and limitations within employment.

The news follows reports that Meghan, who is pregnant with her first child with Prince Harry, 34, plans to raise the new royal as gender fluid.

The former "Suits" actress wants to parent the child "without imposing any stereotypes," a source told Vanity Fair.

"Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby," the insider said. "Her exact word was 'fluid'"

The couple, who married last May, are also said to have opted for a gender-neutral nursery with white and grey colours.

"She said they plan to raise their child with a fluid approach to gender," the source added.
