AceShowbiz - Alternative hip-hop musician Lizzo is ringing in the new year by releasing a brand new track entitled "Juice" and its accompanying music video on Friday, January 4. Directed by Quinn Wilson, the three-and-a-half-minute visuals shows the 30-year-old star paying homage to fashion and pop culture in the past.

It features Lizzo traveling back in time, appearing on an array of paid programming spots. The beginning of the music video takes fans to see her starring in an 80s informercial for hand cream with a male co-star, before the scene moves to show her guesting on a late-night talk show and hosting an exercise program.

Not stopping there, Lizzo later changes role as a host of a home-shopping channel, advertising "My Juice Beauty Products". She also forms a 60s girl group and performs the song in a television program. "If I'm shiny, everybody gonna shine/ I was born like this, don't even gotta try," she sings. "I like chardonnay, get better over time/ Heard you say I'm not the baddest, b***h, you lie."

It turns past pop culture isn't the only thing that Lizzo honors in the music video. Elsewhere in the video, the plus-size singer is seen watching a YouTube video of herself starring in an ASMR video. She ends the visuals by encouraging viewers to buy her song online in a retro fashion.

"Juice" is Lizzo's first release of the year, following her two standalone singles "Fitness" and "Boys" which were released last year. Her last album, "Big Grrrl Small World", was released in December 2016 whilst her first major EP "Coconut Oil" hit the stores in the following year.

When she's not working on her music, Lizzo has been actively promoting self-love in many forms. She appeared in ModCloth's "Say It Louder" campaign and sported the first plus-size outfit made for FIT's Future of Fashion runway show at an LGBTQ event at Pride Island in 2018.
