AceShowbiz - K-Pop fans were in shock after it was revealed that EXO's Kai and BLACKPINK's Jennie are currently in relationship. The news broke on January 1 after South Korean gossip outlet Dispatch released some photos of the popular idols enjoying a late-night date.
In the report, which indicated that the local news tabloid is continuing its tradition of revealing a celebrity couple every January 1, it was said that the EXO member picked the "SOLO" singer from her dorm on November 25. The lovebirds then were photographed enjoying their secret rendesvouz by holding hands and taking photos at a park.
Dispatch further reported that the "Love Shot" singer and the "BOOMBAYAH" hitmaker also spent some time together in Paris in October during which they attended different events for Fashion Week.
It appeared they both posted matching photos taken in Eiffel Tower on the same day, October 3. "Had the most romantic dinner admiring the eiffel tower #happyjen," Jennie captioned the snaps, seemingly taken by her handsome boyfriend. The photos featured the 22-year-old singer smiling so brightly at the camera.
Kai also shared on his own account some photos of him posing with the famous tower at the background. However, he left the post captionless.
Following the report, both YG Entertainment and SM Entertainment, which represent Jennie and Kai representatively, released statements regarding the rumored couple. YG Entertainment stated, "We did not know of the dating rumors involving Jennie. We are currently looking into the matter."
SM Entertainment then released their own statement in which the agency confirmed the pair are indeed dating. "Kai and Jennie have become fond of each other," the statement said. Through his agency, the EXO member also said that he is "in a good relationship" with Jennie.
Later on, YG Entertainment issued another statement, saying, "We take the same position as SM Entertainment."

Fans mostly are being supportive of the couple, saying that their relationship is a "destiny" since Jennie's pet dog is also named Kai. "so we are gonna sit here and pretend that kai and jennie aren't the cutest couple there is?? JENKAI (heart emojis)," a delighted fan tweeted.
