Emotional tributes to the late 'Absolutely Fabulous' star come shortly after her agent confirmed that she passed away on December 28 night at the age of 93.

AceShowbiz - Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders have led the celebrity tributes to their late "Absolutely Fabulous" co-star Dame June Whitfield.

The 93-year-old, who was famous for her roles in "Ab Fab", the "Carry On" films and "Terry and June", passed away "peacefully" on Friday night, December 28, according to her agent.

Shortly after the news broke, Joanna, who played Patsy alongside June in the BBC comedy series, remembered her co-star in an emotional tribute.

"I am heartbroken to lose such a darling friend and shall never forget her sensational talent, humour and her generosity to us all who had the joy of working with her on Ab Fab," she told ITV News. "She will always have a most special place in my heart."

Jennifer, who wrote "Absolutely Fabulous" and cast June as her long-suffering mother in the show, called the veteran actress "extraordinary."

"It's so tremendously sad to lose June. I will always be grateful that she agreed to be in 'Ab Fab' and even more grateful that she became a dear friend," she said in a statement to the Press Association. "She lived and worked with an extraordinary grace. Everything June did was perfectly measured. She was so loved and I will miss her hugely."

Julia Sawalha, who played Saffron, granddaughter to June's character in "Absolutely Fabulous", took to Twitter to pay tribute to her friend.

"Thank you #damejunewhitfield, for teaching me my craft with such grace and dignity. I always wanted you to know how in awe of you I was, however, you were always far too humble to accept my adoration. You were a great source of inspiration to me. Bye-bye Gran," she touchingly shared.

The four stars reunited for the movie version of the hit '90s sitcom in 2016, joined by a host of "A-list" stars in cameo roles.

David Walliams posted a black-and-white throwback picture of June from her role in 1972's "Carry on Abroad" on social media, and told his followers that the beloved actress had scolded him over his comedy show, "Little Britain".

"I worked with her and Ronnie Corbett in 'The One Ronnie' and she told me off because she thought 'Little Britain' was too rude. I was devastated as I loved her so much, but she did it a nice way and was right of course! June was a magnificent comic actress with seemingly no ego and absolutely perfect timing," he sadly wrote.
