In addition to featuring Fionn Whitehead's character starting to lose himself while delving in the game-making project, the video reveals the premiere date of the feature-length special of 'Black Mirror'.

AceShowbiz - Netflix has finally unlashed the first trailer for "Black Mirror: Bandersnatch", an upcoming feature-length event based on its acclaimed series. Clocking at 1 minute and 39 second, the trailer follows young British programmer, played by Fionn Whitehead, who is designing a video game based on a book.

Things go wild as the book has a terrifying backstory. The book is written by a man named Jerome F. Davies, who, according to the trailer, "went cuckoo and cut his wife's head off." As Whitehead's Stefan is delving in the project and the book, he starts to lose himself as the reality and the game seem to be merging into each other.

The trailer also features the "Dunkirk" actor's character stopping his medication as he flushes his pills on toilet. Later, a slew of some trippy scenes are glimpsed. At one moment, the main character discovers graphic artwork that seemingly will play a big role in the movie, while another scene sees his hand melding with a mirror much to his own horror.

"Change your mind. Change your life. Change your past, your present, your future," read the words flashed in the screen before it comes to an end with a character warning in voiceover, "Your fate has been dictated."

The trailer also reveals that "Black Mirror: Bandersnatch" is going to go live on Friday, December 28. However, it remains to be seen whether the special of Netflix's anthology series "Black Mirror" will be a choose-your-own-adventure experience like it was previously rumored.

Set in 1984, "Black Mirror: Bandersnatch" centers on a young programmer who is adapting a sprawling fantasy novel titled "Bandersnatch" into a video game. According to the official logline, throughout the process he "begins to question reality as he adapts a sprawling fantasy novel into a video game and soon faces a mind-mangling challenge. Welcome back."

In addition to Whitehead, "Bandersnatch" stars Will Poulter, Craig Parkinson, Alice Lowe and Asim Chaudhry.
