After Trippie went missing from Travis' Detroit, Michigan gig, words are circulating that the 'Love Scars' rapper decided to quit due to repeated production delays.

AceShowbiz - Rising rapper Trippie Redd has quit as one of the opening acts for Travis Scott (II)'s "Astroworld Tour" over production delays.

The "Love Scars" star had been supporting Travis on the road since their trek kicked off last month, but he was a no-show during a stop in Detroit, Michigan on Tuesday, December 04, and sources tell TMZ he has bowed out of the remaining dates too.

The report suggests Trippie had become frustrated over the repeated showtime delays as production crewmembers raced to set up Travis' elaborate stage, complete with roller coaster rides, forcing the 19-year-old to shorten his own already-brief performance.

He confirmed the news late on Thursday by posting screenshots of the article as he apologised to ticketholders.

"I LOVE MY FANS THO...," he wrote in the caption. "for the time being I will be working on new music and will hopefully release something for u guys (sic)".

"sorry thanks for understanding," Trippie added.

Representatives for Travis have yet to comment on the news, but the "Astroworld Tour" is expected to continue featuring openers Sheck Wes and Gunna for its remaining 2018 shows.

The gigs move on to Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, December 08 and wrap in Portland, Oregon on 22 December.
