AceShowbiz - Oprah Winfrey has thanked fans for their support following the death of her mother.
The media mogul's niece, Alisha Hayes, revealed Vernita Lee had died on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, aged 83, and the news, which emerged on Monday, led fans to send their well wishes to Oprah and her family during the tough time.
Hours later, the TV titan and actress returned to Instagram to share a brief tribute alongside a photo of her loved ones.
"Thank you all for your kind words and condolences regarding my mother Vernita Lee's passing," Oprah wrote. "It gives our family great comfort knowing she lived a good life and is now at Peace".
According to TMZ.com, a private funeral service has already been held.
